Guest rooms and services
Stay in shared dorms or private rooms. Free linens and towels as well as daily housekeeping service are included, and laundry facilities are available on site.
A free continental breakfast is served every morning in our on-site restaurant, Cafe Franco, with fruit, toast, bagels, or waffles. Cafe Franco also offers healthy, organic lunches and dinners at low prices.
For cooking your own meals, we have a large, fully-equipped guest kitchen, and you can dine either in the spacious dining room or on the outdoor deck, both with beautiful bay views.
The hostel is equipped with free wifi, and provides high-speed internet facilities for rent. Guests can unwind in our game room with foosball and billiards, or our guest lounge with wood- burning stove.
Activities amd outings
All three of our San Francisco hostels offer free or low-cost activities every day of the week! Get to know your fellow hostellers on walking tours across the Golden Gate Bridge and around downtown, and nightlife outings to museums, bars, and comedy clubs.
We offer low-cost day trips to scenic Wine Country, Muir Woods National Monument, Monterey/Carmel, and more. You can also book an overnight trip to Yosemite at our front desk, and spend the night at our Yosemite Bug Lodge or camping under the stars.
Green Practices
We are committed to eco-friendly, low-impact travel, and are proud to use green practices at the hostel including:
* Recycling bottles, cans, cardboard, and paper. You'll find recycling bins in every guest room, as well as the café and kitchen.
* Composting all food and yard waste, including more than 90% of paper towels used in the hostel.
* Serving fair-trade and organic coffee and teas, as well as rBST-free milk and creamer, organic soy milk, and organic raw and cane sugar in the café.
* Preparing meals with organic vegetables and hormone-free deli meats.
* Using biodegradable/recycled napkins, utensils, to-go packaging, and trash bags at the cafe.
* Using only 100% recycled (40% post-consumer waste) chlorine-free paper products in the bathrooms, as well as low-flow toilets, faucets, and showerheads.
* Using water-saving, high-efficiency, front-loading washers in the laundry facilities.
* Purchasing only Energy-Star rated appliances and office equipment.
* Using nontoxic cleaning products (such as vinegar, borax, etc.) wherever possible.
* Donating old paint for reuse, and avoiding using high-VOC products.
* Recycling spent light bulbs, empty toner and printer cartridges, and batteries.

The Fisherman's Wharf Hostel is operated by the Golden Gate Council of Hostelling International USA, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting intercultural understanding, environmental stewardship, and world peace through travel. The hostel is also an authorized Concessioner of the National Park Service, Department of the Interior.

Wegbeschreibung
The hostel is located 2 miles north of downtown. Enter Upper Ft. Mason at Bay &, Franklin. At the first stop sign, turn left at the chapel and follow the road to building 240.From the Airport take shuttle vans to hostel. We recommend Lorrie's, cost $12.00 per person.
From Trans Bay terminal take the bus MUNI #10 northbound to Bay &, Van Ness and walk 1 block west to Franklin.
From Ferry Building: Amtrak: Take MUNI F line northbound to Bay, transfer to #10.
Caltrain: MUNI #47 westbound, exit at Bay &, Van Ness.
