Hi-Austin rests on the shores of Lady Bird Lake, providing a peaceful setting only minutes from downtown Austin. Guests are only footsteps away from bus lines, the hike and bike trail, and the Colorado River. A 10 minute journey could take you to the middle of the Red River music district, to the stylish hub of South Congress, to the cool waters of Barton Springs Pool, or to the natural beauty of the Austin Greenbelt. Our fun and friendly staff would love to give you some ideas of what to do in town and directions on how to get there!   Bed linens and internet access are included in the rate.   Rate shown is for non-members. HI members should present their current membership card and request the member discount at the front desk during check in.   No curfew, comfortable 24 hour lobby overlooks Lady Bird Lake. Front desk is cheerfully staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.   Dormitories open 15:00 p.m. – 11:00 a.m. (17:00 p.m. - 11:00 a.m.). Lockers in rooms, 1 per person, central air-conditioning and heat for your comfort!   Group reservations of more than 6 total beds require 50% hostel deposit and minimum one week cancellation notice. Please call or e-mail us for information on group reservations and discounts for parties of 6 or more.   As part of our high quality standards, a government-issued photo ID (such as a passport or drivers license) must be presented upon check-in.   HI-Austin will charge your credit card for the first night's stay, minus your booking deposit, automatically. Please inform the hostel of any cancellations by 5 pm the day before you are scheduled to arrive in order to receive a refund.   HI-Austin is a great resource for travelers - it is our policy that we cannot allow check-in for residents of the Austin area. We have a 14 night maximum stay - exceptions may be allowed for academic reasons. By Car take exit #233 (riverside Drive) from Interstate-35. Turn East on Riverside Drive. Travel 2 - 3 blocks and turn left on South Lakeshore Blvd (at the 7-11). We are ¼ mile on the left in the city park along the Town Lake. We are the only building in the park.

By Bus from the Airport Take Bus 350 to ACC (Austin Community College), at the ACC transfer station, get on Bus 20. Exit bus at Burton and Riverside Drive. Walk North (downhill/towards the lake) on Tinnin Ford. When you reach the corner of Tinnin Ford and Lakeshore, the hostel will be the only building across the street.

By bus from Amtrak Train Station: Walk 1 block North to 5th Street and take take bus 22 to Congress Avenue, cross the street and take Bus 20 or 7 South, get off at Burton and E Riverside Drive. Walk North (downhill/towards the lake) on Tinnin Ford. When you reach the corner of Tinnin Ford and S Lakeshore, the hostel will be the only building across the street.

From the Greyhound Bus Terminal: Walk across the parking lot to the corner, take Bus 7 south, get off at Burton and Riverside Drive. Walk North (downhill/towards the lake) on Tinnin Ford. When you reach the corner of Tinnin Ford and S Lakeshore, the hostel will be the only building across the street.
