Boulevard Sarandi Hostel in Montevideo

zuletzt aktualisiert am 05.01.2010

Boulevard Sarandi hostel is located in the heart of Ciudad Vieja, the historic quarter of Montevideo, an area which has been declared of national interest in Uruguay, with restaurants, pubs, shops, theatres, museums and many other places of interest.   This light and spacious former home was built in 1826 and has been extensively remodelled, with a huge and comfortable common area, with hardwood floors, open brickwork and the presence of antique and typical objects that can normally be found in museums.   There are balconies onto the pedestrian Sarandí street from where you can see the sea on both sides, which makes this hostel a magical place.   The hostel provides all of this in a safe enviroment and with the comforts of the 21st century such as heating and air conditioning in every room, television with cable TV, PC with Wi-Fi available, all day hot water and full kitchen facilities, with breakfast included.   Our uruguayan criollo and rustuc style of decoration makes a very warm and comfortable enviroment, which convined with the good vibrations and disposition of the people who work here will ensure a wonderful stay and a reluctance to leave.

Wegbeschreibung

If you are coming from Tres Cruces (Montevideo bus terminal) go out through the main exit, then in the bus stop take any of the following lines: 180, 187, 188 or CA1. Then get down at Cerrito and Zabala streets, or Buenos Aires and Zabala if you had taken the CA1 line. Walking through Zabala street, heading the opposite direction of the port, are 3 blocks to arrive to Sarandí street. In that corner we are located.

If you come from Carrasco International Airport, in the main exit there is a bus station where the bus companies CUT or Copsa stop. Take any of those bus that leads to the terminal (Tres Cruces). From there use the directions listed above. In case you want to take a taxi, the average fare to the hostel goes from 15 to 20 USD.

If you are coming to the port, the hostel is really close, so you may find the best to walk. After going out of the port you cross the street and find Perez Castellano street. You walk by that street 4 blocks, to arrive to Sarandí street. Then, heading towards the center, you walk 3 more blocks by Sarandi, to arrive at Zabala street, there is where we are.
