Welcome to Home Made Hostel! If you are looking for a home from home place, book here. Being located in a beautiful apartment in a 19th century building in the city center, we offer something different than usual 'bunk-bed' hostels do.   What do we have, what do we offer?   - Learn how to cook traditional Hungarian meal on every Tuesday or Wednesday. Free to attend and eat.   - Rooms: the interior in the rooms are individually designed. We have comfy beds (no bunk beds) with heaps of space. Some rooms also have lofts, which provide privacy. The rooms are lockable and each bed has a separate locker.   Two rooms (4-bed and 8-bed) are interconnected. Our private double en-suite room iis a nice, small apartment located next door in the corridor with a bathroom and a small kitchen. Also suitable as a twin private. WIFI and flat screen TV set available. Check-out time is 11:00 am. Check-in time is 13:00 pm   - Facilities: Our facilities are clean and very well maintained.   - Character: the decor is whimsical and a whole lot of fun, going beyond your typical drab backpacker room. All the rooms are equipped with furniture designed and redesigned by our staff!   - Beds: we have very comfy beds in open and spacious rooms among warm and inviting furnishings.   - Staff: the staff at our hostel really go above and beyond to make sure that you feel like you are at home. We do our best at recommending things to do and at booking things if you need that done as well. They are very approachable, friendly and helpful with pointing out places to eat, see/hear live music and go out.   - Atmosphere: there is always a real sense of community at the hostel and it is a great place to meet other travelers.   - Location: 50m from metro station, halfway between Heroes Square and the river (easy walk or metro to either), surrounded by lots of great cafes and restaurants and relaxed bars. This location serves as a great base for exploring Budapest. Moreover, the hostel is in the middle of all the hot spots, popular sights, nightlife spots, shops, restaurants, markets, cafés, clubs, theatres and cinemas. Wherever you want to go in the city, it is within a stone-throw. In the neighbourhood you will find ATM machines, currency exchange, post office, pharmacy, pubs, night clubs, movies, restaurants and shops of all sorts.   What else?   - Free internet access in the common room, - Free Wifi in the whole of the hostel, - Free tea and coffee, - Three showers - maps of different kinds, flyers and brochures on cultural and entertainment venues, - socializing area (common room) -free lockers, laundry (including drying) for 5 euros, - airport pick up is available for less than price of a taxi (14 euro from Terminal 1 and 16 euro from Terminal 2) - cold and hot running water as well as cooking facilities - Scooters for low price to do your sightseeing Important:   1 Please note that if you arrive before 12:00 am (noon), we may not be able to guarantee you a bed immediately. If you arrive earlier, you can store your luggage at the hostel and hang around if you want.   2 Please note that we are NOT a party hostel. Train
1. Nyugati pályaudvar (Nyugati Railway Station)
Option 1:
If you reach Nyugati pályaudvar, hop on tram No 4 or 6 and go one stop. The hostel is opposite the tram stop. Look for number 22. We are located between 'maraton' sportswear store and 'millenium' bookshop. You will find a small green sign right above the bells. Walk into the court yard through the entrance gate, walk 5 metres and then turn right. Walk up the stairs and then up the stairs again to the first floor and then turn right.

Travel fare: you need to buy one section ticket which costs 220 HUF (0.90 EUR).
Duration of journey to the hostel: 5 minutes.

Option 2:
Take a 5 minute walk in Teréz körút on the left side of the road towards Oktogon. Look for number 22. We are located between 'maraton' sportswear store and 'millenium' bookshop. You will find a small green sign right above the bells. Walk into the court yard through the entrance gate, walk 5 metres and then turn right. Walk up the stairs and then up the stairs again to the first floor and then turn right.

2. Keleti pályaudvar (Keleti Railway Station)
Option 1:
- Take metro 2 (M2, red line) and go to Deak tér. Change for M1 and go three stops and get off at Oktogon. When you have reached oktogon, look for burger king. we are 50 metres from burger king down the main road (terez korut), between 'maraton' sportswear store and 'millenium' bookshop. look for number 22. You will find a small sign right above the bells. Walk into the court yard through the entrance gate, walk 5 metres and then turn right. Walk up the stairs and then up the stairs again to the first floor and then turn right.

Travel fare: you need to buy a transfer ticket for 420 HUF (1.7 EUR).
Duration of journey to the hostel: 15-20 minutes

Option 2:
- Take M2 to Blaha Lujza tér (one stop). When you walk out of the subway, look for direction 'Margit híd'. Take tram 4 or 6. Go three stops towards the direction of 'Margit híd'. The third stop is Oktogon. The hostel is opposite the tram stop. Look for number 22. We are located between 'maraton' sportswear store and 'millenium' bookshop. You will find a small green sign right above the bells. Walk into the court yard through the entrance gate, walk 5 metres and then turn right. Walk up the stairs and then up the stairs again to the first floor and then turn right.

- Take a taxi. Call 00-36-1-2111-111 (City taxi). Do NOT hail a taxi. Transfer costs 7-9 euro.

3. Déli pályaudvar (Déli Railway Station)
Option 1:
- Take M2 to Deak square. Then change for M1 and go three stops towards the direction of Mexikói út. Get off at Oktogon. Airport:
Ferihegyi repül?tér (Ferihegy Airport - Terminal 1 and 2):

Option 1: public transportation:
- Take the bus no 200 in front of the the airport gate and get off at the terminal (Kõbánya-Kispest).
- Take M3 and go to Deák tér, where the three metro lines intersect.
- Change for M1 and travel three stops towards the direction of Mexikói út: now you are at Oktogon. When you have reached oktogon, look for burger king. we are 50 metres from burger king down the main road (terez korut), between 'maraton' sportswear store and 'millenium' bookshop. look for number 22. You will find a small sign right above the bells. Walk into the court yard through the entrance gate, walk 5 metres and then turn right. Walk up the stairs and then up the stairs again to the first floor and then turn right.

Travel fare: you need to buy a single ticket (at the driver's) for 270 HUF (1 EUR) + a transfer ticket at K?bánya-Kispest for 420 HUF (1.7 EUR).

Important notice: make sure that when you have come out of the airport, you buy your ticket either from a machine or on the bus before you board. If you buy your ticket when boarding the bus, try to have some change in advance because the driver may not be able to refund you.
Duration of journey to the hostel: 60-75 minutes

Option 2: Taxi
Taxi companies have fix rates: transfer from both Terminal 1 and 2 to the hostel is 21 euro. The hostel also offers its taxi service at 15 euro from Terminal 1 and at 17 euro from Terminal 2. If you want a taxi to be arranged for you, please let us know at least two days in advance.

Option 3: Airport Shuttle Bus
Once you have gone through the customs, look for ‘Airport Minibus’ signs. Sign up for the traveller list. You need to pay at the customer desk.

Option 4: Airport Shuttle Train
Airport shuttle trains are now in operation from Ferihegy 1 (Terminal 1). Trains stop in front of the terminal building. The train terminates at Nyugati main station. For directions from the station, please see Nyugati pályaudvar (Nyugati Railway Station) above. For time table, please look for info at the airport.

Coach
Népligeti Nemzetközi Buszállomás (Népliget International Coach Station)

Option 1:
International coaches arrive at the Népliget Buszállomás. Take M3 and travel towards the direction of ’Újpest Városközpont’. Get off at Deák tér. Change for M1 and go three stops towards the direction of Mexikói út and get off at Oktogon.
