Lake Bunyonyi Overland Resort in Kampala
Bunyonyi overland resort is set on the shores of Lake Bunyonyi, at a walkable distance to enable you explore the lake or make a wonderful stop-over on your way to track the rare mountain gorillas. It can be your destination to spend some nights, but also a place for a nice day visit. The resort is locally owned and constructed with local materials.
Accommodation is offered in individual and family cottages, there is also a campsite, hot showers, flashing toilets .There are a snack bar with a fire place, satellite television, mini grocery. Visitor information is also available at the safari lodge.
Activities include, swimming, dugout canoe excursions, bird watching, guided nature walks, mountain biking, fishing and scenic viewing. While at the safari lodge, you will have chance of interacting with the typical Bakiga and Batwa nearby. Adventure into visiting the village market, where a variety of fresh vegetables and crafts are sold. You will be prompted to buy some for a souvenir.

Getting there and away: From Kampala to KabaleKabale is situated about 410 kilometres south-west of Kampala. After you cross the equator you drive through Masaka and later Mbarara on a good tarmac road. There is plenty of public transport (buses and minivans) that travel this route daily in both directions.
From Kabale to Bunyonyi Overland Resort
Go through the town centre following the main road, then take a turn left at the Y junction 0,5 km outside the town (towards Kisoro). At the junction, there is a yellow sign ",BUNYONYI RESORT",. Some 4 kilometres later, at the top of the hill, you will see a stunning view of Lake Bunyonyi. Continue down towards the lake for 3 more kilometres following our yellow signposts.
