Bong House in Seoul
I, Bong Do Lee, would like to welcome you to my guesthouse. Bong House is a laid back, fun, friendly and cosy guesthouse in an excellent location, offering prices that can't be beat. Rooms range in size from double beds to 7 beds and toilets and showers are outside the rooms. There's a fully equipped kitchen for those who want to cook and a washing machine for laundry emergencies. You can enjoy cable TV in our two common rooms, which are a great place to relax and meet new friends. There's free Internet and Wifi access throughout the guesthouse. There's no curfew, so you can come and go as you please. You can now also enjoy our recently opened bar! Location- Bong House is located in a lively student area with a great atmosphere. The area is packed with restaurants, shops and theatres. There's a unique and cosy ambiance, something you won't find in other areas in Seoul. History, culture, food and fun all come together here, as two of Seoul's most famous palaces are only a few subway stops away, small theatres are scattered all over the area, traditional Korean food can be enjoyed in the numerous restaurants (though you can also find lots of different ethnic restaurants) and bars and karaoke rooms are readily available to make your trip even more enjoyable and memorable! Just a five minute walk from subway line number 4, you can easily reach any destination in Seoul and even outside of Seoul. Blessed with an extensive subway network, Seoul is one of the easiest cities to travel in. The subway will get you anywhere within no time, even to other cities like Suwon, Incheon and national parks such as Bukhansan National Park. Bong House is a place where you can meet many other travellers. If there are enough willing guests, I can organise a traditional Korean house party, which may continue to some of the best clubs and bars in Seoul. My friendly staff are always around to help and will try their best to ensure that you have a great and memorable time in Seoul. WARNING: these directions are long, but the details will get you here.By bus from the Airport: Bus Stop (6011, get off at the ",SungKyunkwan daehakgyo ipgu", Bus Stop)
1. At the airport go to the only tourist information point (near exit 12) in the lobby and collect your maps and other info on Seoul and Korea.
Next to the information desk is the bus ticket office. Buy a ticket to: ",SungKyunkwan (University)", at a cost of approximately 9000 Won.
Then go to either bus stop 5B or 12A and waith for the 6011 bus. Load your bags under the bus, and let the driver know you wish to go to ",Hyehwa - SungKyunkwan (University)",.
The trip takes 1 hour to an hour and 20 minutes, so relax and enjoy the view.
The bus will either display the location stops on a screen or broadcast them in English so you can see or hear where you are on the maps.
2. When you get close to the SungKyunkwan (University) you will come out on to a main road and will see a Family Mart to your right and then you will immediately cross traffic lights. The bus will then stop 30 meters down the road in front of a shop called Watsons. Collect your bags and walk back 30 meters in the direction you came in (towards the Family Mart).
3. Stand in front of the Family Mart and you will see a Dunkin' Donuts and SK Telecom on the other side of this side road. Cross the main road and continue up the smaller street past the Dunkin' Donuts, you'll see a lot of little restaurants and shops on both sides.
Stick to the left-hand side, pass ENO Records and continue along the road until you see an Ediya Espresso Coffee Shop (with a blue sign) on one corner and a small hotdog place on the other corner. Turn left here and walk towards the Family Mart.
When you reach the Family Mart, look straight ahead and you'll see a couple of small Korean restaurants. Slightly to the left you will see our Bong House sign. Welcome! Enter, please take off your shoes and go downstairs to check in. If the doors are closed, just press the bell.
From the Subway - Line 4, Hyehwa Station, Exit no.4
(Take subway line 4 (the light blue line) heading North, towards Dangogae. If you're coming from Seoul Station: travel 6 stops North, then get off at Hyehwa Station.)
1. Start at Hyehwa Subway Exit no. 4. You should see a ",Baskin Robbins",.
2. When you see a Baskin Robbins, make a left turn.
Take this paved road full of shops. Go straight for about 200 meters (on the way you should see: an Omuto Tomato restaurant, a Tous Les Jours, a Misha beauty shop, an ETude beauty shop and a movie theater).
Go to the end where you will see a Family Mart. Look to your right across the bigger street with a crosswalk, there's a Dunkin' Donuts.
Cross this street and continue to walk up this street between the Dunkin' Donuts and SK Telecom shop, you'll see a lot of little restaurants and shops on both sides.
3. You will need to walk another 230m (250 steps)- on the way you will pass ENO Records.
At the 230m mark you will see a side street with on one corner an Ediya Espresso Coffee Shop (with a large blue sign) and on the other corner a small hotdog place.
Turn left here and walk towards the Family Mart. Once you're at the Family Mart, look straight ahead and you'll see a couple of small restaurants, slightly to the left you will see our sign -Bong House- it's a white circular sign.
Welcome, you made it! Enter through the main doors (press the bell if the doors are closed), take off your shoes and head downstairs to the office.

Tell the driver: please, take me to ",Sungkyunkwandae Jungmun", or you can show this -?????? ????? ??? ???- to the taxi driver (Korean pronounciation: Sung kyun kwan Dae hak kyo Jeong moon ap eu ro Dae ryo da joo se yo). Don't forget - if you phone us from Hyewha Station or the front gate of Sungkyunkwan University, we'll come to pick you up!
