Lake View Lanka is a quiet (no roads or traffic), small and friendly Sri Lankan homestay at the Chandrika Lake near Centauria Hotel and the city of Embilipitiya.   We've always loved hosting tourists and friends and the cultural exchange it brings. So we decided to start a new guesthouse to share these moments with you. It's your chance to have a cultural experience and get to know real Sri Lankan family life.   We hope you will enjoy your stay at our beautiful place.   We are offering a wooden tree-house, five metres above the ground. This has allowed us to start a small business again as we are now able to rent the tree house to tourists. The tree house includes a double bed with mosquito net and a balcony offering the opportunity to relax and enjoy the beautiful sunsets over the lake.   For more convenience three rooms are available in our new guesthouse. Each is spacious and includes a double bed with mosquito net. You have the opportunity to relax while watching exotic birds and enjoy your drinks and meals on the terrace overlooking the beautiful garden and lake.   Meals and drinks are available, e.g. Dinner (rice and curry with chicken or fish): 500 Rs. (western food or BBQ upon request). Breakfast (toast, butter, jam, eggs, fruits, coffee or tea): 300 Rs. (Sri Lankan breakfast upon request).   Room rates include: free pick- up and drop-off from the city centre, wi-fi, drinking water, tea, coffee and hot shower. Laundry service is available.   Nimal is an experienced teacher of traditional Sri Lankan dance and Kumudu a brilliant host and cook. Both offer private courses for their guests.   Sri Lankan cooking course (half day, 1500 Rs.): Kumudu is an excellent cook and you have the chance to learn how to cook delicious Sri Lankan food such as string hoppers, rice and curry and devilled dishes.   Traditional Sri Lankan dance course (half day, 1500 Rs.): Nimal is an experienced teacher who can teach you Kandyan dance as well as other dance styles such as traditional harvesting dance in his dance hall. Kandyan dance performances are available on request: 2000 Rs. (depending on number of dancers).
