The Midland Youth Hostel 1 in Bucharest
The Midland Youth Hostel 1 is very easy and fast to reach, and within 10 minutes walking distance from our place, you can find supermarkets, bistros and restaurants, bars and clubs (we are located in the bar/club zone of Bucharest), money exchange houses, travel agencies, train tickets agencies, banks, to say nothing of one of the oldest and most beautiful parks in Bucharest, the Cismigiu Park, which The Midland 1 overlooks on.
Staying here, you will be maximum 10 minutes away from the main points of interest of the capital: the famous ""House of People"" (now called ""The Palace of the Parliament""), Vlad Tepes' old palace, the National Theatre, the Opera house, the University, etc.
""The Midland Youth Hostel 1"" sleeps 26 in 3 mixed dorms and a double room. It is composed of the reception area, 1 common area, 3 dorms and the double room. The kitchen/common area is complete with cooker range, toaster, fridge, microwave oven, washing machine and dryer, and also a TV and a home cinema system. There is air conditioning in all rooms. Internet is also free of charge, and breakfast is included.
We also have a book exchange service - leave one, take one. In the reception area there is a basket with common goods where you can usually find toilettries, bus and metro tickets etc.
There are 3 showers, 2 toilets and 2 sinks in 2 bathrooms.
Smoking is allowed only in the kicthen/ common area.

Exact address: Bdul Regina Elisabeta no. 44, buzzer 32C, 3rd floor, apt no 32.1. From the 'Gara de Nord' train station:
- By bus - Take bus no. 85 for 6 stops, get off at the 6th stop (in front of a McDonalds). Walk back towards the park, turn right on Str Zalomit where the park entrance is, and we are right in that building.Its the building with the minimarket ",Vel Pitar", on the ground floor.
- By subway - Take M1 subway line from the 'Gara de Nord' train station for one stop, to 'Piata Victoriei' stop. Change to M2 subway line and take the next subway for 2 stops, to the 'Universitate' stop. Walk down the street Regina Elisabeta and turn right exactly before the park, on the Str Ion Zalomit. We're there at no 44, in the building with ",Vel Pitar", on the ground floor.
OR
- Take M1 subway line for 6 stops , to 'Izvor'stop.Cross the street, in the opposite direction from The Palace of the Parliament ( across the bridge) turn right at the first crossing , and when you've passed the park turn left, on the Str Ion Zalomit. We're there at no 44.
- By taxi - we are pretty close to the train station so a taxi shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes and 6- 10 RON .
2. From the international Airport 'Henry Coanda' and 'Baneasa':
- By bus - Take the Express Bus no. 783 to the 'Piata 21 Dec. 1989' station. Walk down the street Regina Elisabeta and turn right exactly before the park, on the Str Ion Zalomit. We're there at no 44, in the building with ",Vel Pitar", on the ground floor.
- By taxi - we don't advise you to take one, because it is definitely not good value for money. Despite this, if you want to take a cab it shouldn't charge you more than 50 RON ( approx. 15 euro).
Get the tickets from the ticket booth, before you get on the bus.
We are across the street from the City Hall, in the building with the minimarket 'Vel Pitar' on the ground floor.
