Lagos, the most attractive town in the west, is a very popular resort. It is renowned for its beautiful cove beaches that lie beneath the cliff edges.

Some places of interest in Lagos are The Museu Regional de Lagos (museum), which contains some fascinating ancient relics. You will also find some Roman mosaics which were found in the region.

The beautiful church 'Igreja de Santo António'. The ancient Slave Market, in the main square you will see the statue of King Sebastian, the statue itself is quite a talking point, as is the magnificent new marina.

Near the main square, there are a few quaint shops that sell items of brass, copper, pewter, marble and carious other handicrafts, such as lace and pottery. You will also find numerous restaurants and cafes lining the streets, with their tables and chairs outside. Lagos

Airport -&gt, A22 Motorway
• Exit Faro airport onto the main road alongside the airport roundabout (with statues looking to the sky), follow the signs for Faro and A22.
• Continue along this road for approximately 2,5km
• Take the second exit on the right, signposted A22 Lisbon and Portimão. This slip road will bring you onto a busy dual carriageway.
• Keep following this and after a few minutes get into the left lane to take the IP1 signposted &quot,Espanha-Lisboa&quot,.
• After approximately 1.5km take the slip road signposted Portimão. Do NOT take the turning before sign posted Espanha.

A22 Motorway -&gt, Lagos
• You are now on the motorway A22
• Continue westwards on the A22 highway for approximately 65kms and leave at the exit number 1 for Lagos, signposted &quot,Vila do Bispo/ Sagres/ Lagos&quot,. (Please note: Do not exit on the first Lagos exit number 2 signposted &quot,Lagos Este&quot,, but the following one).
• Drive straight ahead over the 1st. roundabout, following the sign saying &quot,Lagos/ Vila do Bispo/ Sagres&quot,.
• On the second roundabout turn to the left, following the sign saying Lagos
• Drive straight ahead over the next round about.
• After it, you will see a Supermarket called Intermarché on the right hand side.
• At the traffic lights turn to the right and drive straight ahead 900 meters you will find Vilabranca in front of you.
