Wegbeschreibung

Jorge Chávez Lima-Callao International Airport (LIM) is 16 Km from Cusco (CUZ). The airport is located 16km (10 miles) northwest of Lima. It is located just west of the city in an unincorporated, suburban area. It is an important hub for traffic between North America and Latin America. Be sure to allow extra time when departing, particularly if flying internationally, as you may face an hour-long line just to check your bags. Curbside check-in is an excellent idea. There are regular flights to Miami, Newark, Atlanta and Houston in the US. There are daily flights from Amsterdam, Madrid, and Toronto as well. The airport is a 20-30 minutes drive from San Isidro or Miraflores. Be wary of the taxi drivers at the airport, they will charge hugely inflated fees. If you need transportation at the airport hire it inside the reception area, and do not use the &quot, informal&quot, taxis outside of it. The Best Western in the Miraflores section offers free airport pickup.
-The number of Terminals: 1

-Driving Directions: From central Lima, take E Faucett Avenue and follow the signs to the airport. Roads are in reasonable conditions.
-Car Parking: The car park is located in front of the main terminal building. The first 10 minutes of parking are free, parking is then paid on an hourly basis. Secure parking is available at the car park entrance.

-Bus: The centre of Lima can be reached by bus. Alternatively kombis (minibuses) run to/from central Lima, stopping along the main avenues in the city (Abancay, Tacna and Wilson avenues). No buses enter the airport grounds, the nearest stop is on the main avenue that leads from the city centre to the airport.

-Peru is home to the highest railroad in the world.

South: Pisco, Ica, Nazca, Arequipa &amp, Tacna
North: Huaraz, Chimbote, Trujillo, Chiclayo &amp, Piura
East: Iquitos, Madre de Dios, Puno

-Getting around, our tips:

By taxi:
If going further, a taxi ride between adjacent neighborhoods costs about $2, or 6 soles if you speak Spanish well enough, whereas a longer ride may cost from $3 to $5. A reasonable price for a taxi service between the airport and Miraflores is about $10 to $15. Be sure to negotiate the fare prior to getting into the taxi, be also very discerning about which taxi you choose. As a foreigner, do not ever get into shared taxis.

Public transport (buses):
Usually you can stop them at any point, though it is easier at the end of a block or at traffic lights. If a bus or combi is not full enough the driver will go slower in the hope more people hop in, so take a cab if you are in a hurry. You usually pay from 0.50 to 1.20 soles. Unlike many other cities in Peru, Lima does not have a big bus terminal. Most companies are in La Victoria. More expensive express buses tend to run from terminals by the inner ring road. Regular buses run up and down the Panamerican Highway and inland.
