K&T Boardinghouse 2 in Vienna
BRAND NEW PLACE! Opening : October 2008
This is a private guesthouse situation (5 rooms) with a friendly, welcoming ambiance. Absolutely non-smoking! If you wish to experience Vienna as a traveler in an authentic and local atmosphere, then this is the place you should choose to stay. The location could not be better, right off of Vienna`s main shopping street, Mariahilfer Strasse is one of Vienna’s liveliest areas. The intersection directly in front of our windows is one of the busiest in the area. Important public transportation connections such as the U3 underground line (Neubaugasse Station), Bus 13A to/from the Sudbahnhof (Southern Railway Station), 10min. walk to the Westbahnhof (Western Railway Station) and approximately the same time to walk to the City’s Center. There are many places to eat, including coffee houses (traditional Viennese to Starbucks), bars, bakeries, restaurants, deli’s and family style establishments in the area. Therefore, breakfast is not offered as everyone prefers to sample from the multitude of choices in the area. In each room we provide a kettle for hot water with mugs, plus coffee and teabags.
The Naschmarket is also a 10 min. walk away and is open 7 days a week. You will find fresh fruits/vegetable stands, international deli’s and food stalls offering inexpensive meals. In addition, each Saturday there is also a popular “Flee market”.
The Spittelberg area, noted for its student bars and artistic shops, is also about a 5 min walk away, with twisted, curving cobblestone streets leading you around more, beautiful Viennese architecture. Our next door neighbor is the traditional, well known, Old Viennese Coffee house called “Cafe Ritter” directly on the corner.
Upon your check-in, we offer a detailed outline of attractions and things to do in Vienna with a city map to help make your stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. We are also happy suggest restaurants, museums, using the public transportation, events.....etc. (www.vienna.at)
Please note: The guests house itself is located on the ground floor with just a few steps up to the apartment door. The lobby is very impressive, old styled and quiet. Several historical books of the district list the house as “the most beautiful” house of the 6th District.

Wegbeschreibung
We are in an excellent location, situated between the old city and the central railway station (West Bahnhof). Most of Vienna’s important attractions, sights and shopping are within easy walking distance and also accessible by public transportation. A Taxi stand is also close by. Regardless of where you come into Vienna, the next paragraph will help you find us once you are in our immediate area.FOR EVERYONE: “*” When you get to us off the metro (U3), bus (13a) or car, look for “Café Ritter”. It is an old Viennese coffee house that you can’t miss since it is a huge landmark. Go to the Café side of the street and go left until you arrive at the next corner. At this corner make a right turn without crossing the street (this is Chawallagasse 2), the first door on your right is our entrance. If you arrive at: Westbahnhof (Western Railway Station):
Option 1: Walk in the direction of the “city center” along Mariahilfer Strasse, which should take about 10-15 min. Follow the directions from “*”.
Option 2: Take the underground/metro U3 (direction Simmering) for 2 stops, get off at “Neubaugasse”, take the “Amerlingstrasse” exit. Follow the directions from “*”.
Südbahnhof (Southern Railway Station): Take Bus #13A (direction Skodagasse) to the “Neubaugasse/Mariahilfer” Stop. Make a right as you exit the bus. Follow the directions from “*”.
Franz-Joseph Bahnhof: Take Streetcar/Tram #5 to Westbahnhof, if you want to walk, go towards the “city center” along Mariahilfer Strasse, which should take about 10-15 min or take the underground/metro U3 (direction Simmering) at Westbahnhof, for 2 stops, get off at “Neubaugasse”, take the “Amerlingstrasse” exit. Follow the directions from “*”.
The Airport: Take the CAT train or -train S7 even better, it is cheaper!- to Wien Mitte/Landstrasse, a short distance away you take the U3 underground/metro (direction Ottakring) for 6 stops, get off at “Neubaugasse”, take the “Amerlingstrasse” exit. Follow the directions from “*”
If you arrive by car: There are several garages in our neighbourhood but we suggest the Apollo Garage on Apollogasse 3 blocks away from us (towards Westbahnhof) for 12 €/day.
