We have 2 Locations in San Francisco! The Amsterdam Hostel & the Mithila Hotel. Both are well located and offer many amenities for our guest.   The AAE Amsterdam has mostly dorm beds in en-suite rooms, yet offers many deluxe double private rooms with micro and fridge. AAE Amsterdam also offers you the ""Youth Private"" with large rooms, private bathrooms and 4 to 6 beds in each.   ALL ROOMS AND DORM ROOMS HAVE PRIVATE BATHROOMS!   If you are looking for complete private selection, Free Breakfast, all private rooms and baths, yet... hostel like prices, then for sure select the Mithila Hotel.   We only have one private room ensuite with 2 separate beds, so if you need a private room with 2 beds, please see the Mithila Hotel (down the street from us) where we offer two and three bed privates there.   All guests in privates and dorms enjoy free all you can eat a waffle breakfast, all day coffee, kitchen, movies and free internet!   Dorm beds are en-suite with 4 to 6 beds. Private Youth is a private room en-suite with either, 2, 3 or 4 bunk beds. These are like private hotel rooms with as many twin beds as you need! Perfect for couples or young groups that want privacy, yet are on a cheap budget.   Then, we have deluxe privates, with double and queen size beds and elegant furnishings. Check them all out! Enjoy the best of this hotel and hostel, in house mobile theater, a commercial size kitchen open to you! And a free waffle breakfast each day.   AAE Amsterdam San Francisco is just two blocks from Union Square, giving to you access to all the attractions that you can find in San Francisco.   While you are busy falling in love with this city, we'll be working to make your trip as easiest and fun as possible. Wegbeschreibung

From Greyhound:
Exit from Greyhound terminal onto Mission Street, turn left and walk towards First Street. Turn right onto First Street and walk one block to Market Street. Cross to other side of Market St. and turn left. Sutter Street will be on your right less than one block down, turn right onto Sutter (there's a See's Candy store on the corner). Walk about 10 blocks on Sutter Street. Proceed to 749 Taylor Street, turn right onto Taylor and hostel will be on left hand side.

From Amtrak:
From Amtrak’s Shopping Center Station (SFS), cross to the other side of Market Street and walk up Powell St, following the Cable Cars. Turn left onto Sutter. Proceed to 749 Taylor Street, turn right onto Taylor and hostel will be on left hand side.

From Airports:
From either Oakland Airport or San Francisco International Airport, take the BART train to the Powell Street station. The BART station is located in the interntaional terminal at San Francisco International Airport. From Oakland Airport you will need to take the AirBART bus ($2) to the Colesium BART station. Take BART train to Powell Street Station ($3.35 from Oakland Colesium station, $5.15 from San Francisco Airport). Exit Powell station at Cable Car turnaround, follow directions above from Amtrak.

Driving:
From highway 5 North: Take highway 580 W to highway 80 W. Take 80 W over Bay Bridge ($3) to 5th St. exit. Stay left on exit ramp, stay in lanes for Harrison St. (Slight left from exit ramp.) Go one block on Harrison, turn right onto 6th St. Follow 6th across Market Street. Street will curve to left and will become Taylor St. Proceed to 749 Taylor Street, Amsterdam will be on your left.

From highway 5 South: Take highway 505 South to highway 80 west, follow above directions.

From US-101 North: Take highway 280 North to Port of SF exit. Take 6th St. ramp. 6th Street becomes Taylor. Proceed to 749 Taylor Street, Amsterdam will be on your left.

From US-101 South: Take highway 101 across the Golden Gate Bridge ($5). 101 becomes Lombard Street, take to Van Ness Ave. Turn right onto Van Ness Ave. and continue several blocks to Post St. Turn left onto Post St., follow to Taylor St. Turn left onto Taylor and follow above directions.
The cheapest parking in the area is $14/night. When you arrive the receptionist will give you directions to the parking lot.**Please note , taxes are not included in the total here, and will be due at check in, SFO tax is 14%**

Cancellations must be made by an email 48 hours advance by email to us, or you will be charged 1 night. ** Groups are our specialty, if you book a group of 10 or more people, please expect a email from our Group Sales Manager within hours of booking. She will handle all your needs. groups do require advance deposits on a major credit card before Group Booking Block is entered.
