Les Matins Bleus in Essaouira
Les Matins Bleus (The Blue Mornings), hotel of charm, is a riad, located in a lane of Medina, close to the ramparts, at 200 meters of the beach and the port.
This residence, built in the 18th century, for a caïd, became later the first primary school of Mogador, then found its initial function, that of a house of family.
The history of Les Matins Bleus starts in the year 2000 when a windsurfer, Alain, accustomed spots of Essaouira, Sidi Kaouki, and Moulay Bouzerktoune, and his partner, Colette, fallen under the charm from the City from the Trade winds decide to join their young friend souiri, Ahmed, owner, with her family, of this magic place, of a great luminosity, with the colors blue and white of the city, where, in the center of the Medina, the birds come to sing at the patio with open sky.
The house was renovated by respecting original architecture scrupulously, while arranging on the first floor, 2 continuations and 2 rooms and, by building four rooms at the terrace, all the rooms being equipped with bathroom and WC.
Les Matins Bleus still a meeting point of French-Moroccan friendship. It’s a place of Moroccan tradition and European modernity.
The suites and rooms, all different, and are decorated with objects from the craft industry souiri. And the sunny terrace offers marvellous breakfasts, with the shelter of the wind, True Blue Mornings, enchanted by the flight and the cries of the gulls.
