The terracotta exterior highlights this budget gem in the heart of Sliema. The guesthouse offers very good facilities at a bargain price, including a fine buffet breakfast to fuel your island explorations. There are 12 spic-and-span rooms, all connected by lift, each with sunny yellow decor, simple furnishings and en suite bathroom. Family-friendly rooms can sleep up to four, wall hangings and colorful linen give a personal touch. On the ground level is a comfy TV lounge and library where guests can socialize, and on the roof is a sun terrace where you can work on your tan while taking in the skyline views.

This is a viable central option for seeing Malta's main sights - you're well within walking distance of Sliema's shopping and dining precinct, close to the ferry connecting you with Valletta, and a quick bus ride to the after-dark action of Paceville. Help is available for booking excursions, car rentals, visits to Heritage sites, Diving, English Language Schools etc.

When arriving by air, there are two options, bus or taxi. The bus service runs between 6am and 8pm. From the airport take bus No 8 to Valletta and then you have to take bus No 62 to the Sliema Ferries. The whole journey could take up to 90 minutes and buses are not very friendly for large suitcases. Get off the bus at the Marks and Spencer Store. Facing Marks &amp,amp, Spencer, go right past a Zara store at the corner, walk up the one way street, Tower Road, and take the first turning on the left, which is Cathedral Street. We are the terracotta building half way up on the right hand side.
