WELCOME TO BARIEW LODGE, BARIO HIGHLANDS, BORNEO
On arrival at the Bario airport, ask for Julfiness and Reddish who also drives the local taxi. A 10 minute ride from the airport will find you at Bariew Backpacker Lodge and Homestay.
The lodge is safe, clean, friendly operators, centrally located. Situated 2km from airport and within walking distance to shops, longhouses, rice fields, police post, immigration post, army post, clinic, internet/telephone, schools, games field and to some attraction sites i.e. grave yard, army airplane wreckage etc.
The Lodge includes 2 lounge rooms, single/double beds, kitchen, showers and western toilets, laundry, left luggage storage, localised nature guides, reading corner, rattan made furniture’s, airport pick up, coffee/tea making facilities, etc.
the Lodge has it's own 4 X 4WD vehicles which will take you to the start of each walk or to other lodges and longhouses.
Bario is a base for jungle treks. Bariew Backpacker Lodge can arrange many activities such as overnight jungle trekking, camping, bird watching, sports fishing, sight-seeing, longhouse-visits, longboat trips, traditional farming experience and cultural entertainment. Jungle trekking from overnight to 5-6 days can be organized accommodating your needs and fitness level.
All meals are served in Kelabit style with the worlds most famous Bario Rice and pineapple curry.
