Phetdavanh Guesthouse in Muang Ngoy

Welcome to Phetdavanh Family Guesthouse!   The guesthouse is a 2 story building on the main street of the village. We have a clean bathroom with shower and western style toilet. On the first floor there is a hammock balcony with 5 hammocks. You can always ask for Penny, daughter of the family who speaks good English.   As you may know, Muang Ngoi is a remote place surrounded by mountains without access to regular power, but the guesthouse generates its own electricity from a waterfall in the jungle, so all rooms have 24 hour power and light. The family can cook authentic Laotian food on request, and in the high season there is a daily Lao food buffet in front of the guesthouse.   For the more adventurous traveler, we offer bungalows on the riverside, behind the Buddhist temple (Phetdavanh 2). They can be seen on the far left when coming from the boat dock.

From Luang Prabang we offer a private boat. This route is very scenic and takes around 5 hours. Boat has soft seats and toilet inside. Please contact us by telephone for bookings.

If travelling with public transport:

From Luang Prabang Northern Bus station you take the 09:30 bus to Nong Kiau. In Nong Kiau there is a connecting boat to Muang Ngoi Neua. The guesthouse is very easy to find: coming from the boat pier, you walk straight to the main street of Muang Ngoi Neua. From here you can see the sign saying 'Phetdavanh Guesthouse'.
