La Casa del Sol is a hostel with a Colombian spirit for people with good energy. Located in Calasanz a very exclusive district of the city with a capacity of 20 people where the travellers do not feel alien and where literally can feel themselves at home.   This is a calm hostel, but cheerful and funny with walls painted in colours by artists, where the visitors can take a rest, read, learn and practice Spanish. (The principal language of the hostel is Spanish). This is the place where you take a nap for hours without worrying about a thing after a long night of clubbing.   This is a big house with a lot of different environments and communal places and a games room with a ping pong table, cable TV and Playsation 2, board games and cards   We also have a movie room with a lot of DVDs, a kitchen open 24 hours a day with everything what you need and 2 open air spaces where you can smoke drink a beer or a fine liquor   A free continental breakfast (Colombian coffee, milk, bread, butter, jam) is available daily between 7am – 11am ( for who wake up a bit later we still have breakfast)   Other facilities include 2 computers with internet and WI-FI all over the house and a library with international literature in Spanish and book exchange for everybody.   We often have an argentine/Colombian style BBQ when the weather is good which is a great opportunity for staff and guests to interact and get to know each other.   We also run a laundry service with a one day turn around and friendly staff who will get all the information you need for the touristic and non touristic places of Medellin as well as transport information. The staff will help you solve all your problems too.   There is just one rule in our hostel- co-existence.

If you arrive at the North terminal, you can take the metro ($1.400 ticket us$1.00) from the Caribe station and go to the San Antonio station and change the line to the Floresta station. Exit the metro towards the bakery and then go up 2 blocks and turn right and walk for 3 blocks and then turn left on 49 street.
