Taganga is an ancient fishing village populated by the descendants of the Tayrona Indians who fled the Spanish colonists. Known as Kogi, Arhuaco, Wayuu and Azario Indians, they consider themselves the spiritual guardians of The Heart of the World and have a deep respect for all living things. We can help you hire a reliable native guide (Jon Jairo) to take you to Parque Tayrona, Playa Grande, Lost City, snorkeling, fishing, trekking in the Sierra Nevada and surrounding areas. Rent covers gas, electricity and water. Available by the day or week - $ 15 USD per person per night, paid in full in advance with a refundable security deposit to cover any damages.

From downtown Santa Marta, the airport or the bus terminal, hire a cab or ask for a mini bus to Taganga. The ride takes 15 minutes from downtown, 45 minutes from the airport or 30 minutes from the bus terminal. When you arrive in Taganga, get off just before the Catholic Church (three blocks past the Police Station), take Calle 15 (towards the Bay) on the left, look for the third house on the right, a cute house with a decorative iron fence. A cab should cost you $7,000 -$10,000 COP and a mini bus about $ 1,000 COP
