Le Sous-Bois in Montreal
Artsy with lots of common space and a huge yard, Le Sous-bois is a hostel in an open space BIG WINDOWS AND LOTS OF PLANTS.
Le Sous-bois is pronounced like Le SOOBWA and it means the area under the dense forest. We just finished a funny kitchen, nice café area, the wireless internet, the voIP phones available for you (free long distance in North America!), the coffee machines, the 6 showers, the toilets, and so on.
Every space is semi-private, with a large bed and curtain to close. All non-smoking, even in the yard. No curfew.
This place has been opened for two months and everything is thought to make you have an amazing and comfortable stay. Everybody says it is the BEST HOSTEL THEY EVER STAYED AT. Don't miss it, come and see us, we are very excited to meet with you!
Dear couples, we know it is hard to travel and stay in bunk beds all the time because you can't afford a private room. So we have a mezzanine for you with double beds and there is curtains around each spot, very nice! So when you make your reservation, write a C before your name so we know we can put you there and you will be all set!
And if you want a private room, you can always take a caravan: private cabin built in the yard, very cute!
Also please note that prices do not include taxes.
Hope you will enjoy your stay!
Your welcoming committee,
Naima, Marc, the little Coralie (1 year old!), Marianne and Valerie.
PS: Thank you for being sensitive with the fact that we go to sleep at night. We give service 24h, but if it is possible, we prefer to answer your questions and make reservations during the day!
Wegbeschreibung
St. Vincent Street is one street West of Place Jacques-Cartier. The property is between Notre-Dame and St-Paul Street. From Berri-Uqam station, you walk south until Notre-Dame and West until St-Vincent.
From the train station, walk East until St-Laurent and South until Notre-Dame and then East again until St-Vincent.
From the airport, a taxi is a 32$ flat rate. You can take the aerobus for 12.50 a person. City bus is 2.50 but it will take forever (about an hour and a half).
By car, follow the brown signs that drives you to the Old City (Vieux-Montréal). From 720, take exit number 6. From other streets, just follow the signs for Vieux-Port, Vieux-Montréal or something. De La Commune street follows the seaway, we are near that. You have to go on Notre-Dame, wich is parallel and take St-Vincent down. It is near the town hall and the Pallais de Justice.
431 is the adress of Le Guilleret, wich is the hotel in the front, ran by the same owners, so you can ring at either place, just go around the house on the left side to go to Le Sous-bois (le SOOBWA!)
