Jazz Hostels opens its first Canadian hostel on August 3, in Montreal's beautiful Latin Quarter. Just outside and surrounding Le Jazz St. Denis are a wide variety of restaurants and bars, frequented by travelers as well as students from the many colleges and universities in the area. Everything is in walking distance including the Red Light District, the Gay Village, McGill University, and Sherbrook, St. Laurent, and St. Catharine Streets.

The hostel itself is a charming building with antique décor and an intimate feel. Half of the building is still operating as the VIP Loft Hotel, a well-known 3-star boutique hotel. Now under new management, Jazz Hostels has opened some of the VIP rooms to travelers seeking the hostel experience – clean and inexpensive accommodations, in the center of town, with a terrific staff to make your stay the best it can be.

-From the Central Bus Station: Exit the station on Rue Berri and walk one block west to Rue St. Denis. Make a right turn on St. Denis and walk up two blocks to Rue Ontario Est. Turn left onto rue Ontario and walk a few steps to the hostel.

-From the Airport: The most economical way to get from the airport to the hostel is with L’Aerobus Shuttle. Busses leave from the airport or from the Central Bus Station every half hour. Travel time is approximately 45 minutes. Tickets are $14$ each way, $24 for round trip.

Taxis are also available for hire at the Trudeau Airport, with a flat rate of $34.75 for those traveling to the downtown area. Tipping is customary.

-From the Metro: Take the Orange, Yellow, or Green lines to the Berri-UQAM metro station. Exit the station on Rue Berri and walk one block west to Rue St. Denis. Turn right on St. Denis and walk up two blocks to Rue Ontario Est. Turn left onto rue Ontario and walk a few steps to the hostel.
