Wegbeschreibung
By AirFly into Vancouver International Airport, BC. Drive on the Trans-Canada Highway to Banff, Alberta. Numerous other routes (Hwy #3 through the south of BC) can be taken. Your trip to Banff will take 9 hours or as much as 9 days ... depending on what you want to do along the way.
Fly into Edmonton International Airport, Alberta and drive 5 hours on Hwy 16 to Jasper, Alberta then south along the Icefields Parkway (great views) to Banff, Alberta. One of the most scenic drives in the world. Not recommended in the winter, unless you are well equipped.
Fly into Calgary International Airport, Alberta and drive / travel 2 hours west to Banff, Alberta or 2.5 hours to Lake Louise.
By Train / Rail
The Rocky Mountaineer Railtours offers rail service from Vancouver to Banff (and on to Calgary). The only other rail service is Via Rail from Edmonton to Jasper.
By Car
There is so much to see and do that we highly recommend renting a vehicle. You will find that if you're here to hike or enjoy the outdoors it is difficult to get to remote setting easily. Renting vehicles in Calgary, Edmonton or Vancouver is the most cost-effective. Most companies have one-way drive options.
By Bus
There are several bus services to Banff: Greyhound Bus Lines, Brewster Transportation and Laidlaw. Numerous charters services cater to groups. There are several buses daily to Calgary and Lake Louise (and west from there).
