Old Jaffa Hostel and Guest House in Tel Aviv

zuletzt aktualisiert am 05.01.2010

Welcome to Old Jaffa Hostel &amp, Guest House -The place to be in Tel Aviv!

Through the centuries Jaffa was the gate to anyone who wanted to visit the Holy Land. All the hotels that once accommodated pilgrims are long closed and the old port serves nowadays only fishermen. Yet, Jaffa is still a great place to start your trip to Israel, and Old Jaffa Hostel &amp, Guest House is an ideal travelling base. We are located in an old charming building close enough to anything you want in Tel Aviv.

We think that it is the nicest hostel in Tel Aviv because we have put our heart and soul into it . We are not the only ones to think so, read what some of the guidebooks (we are recommended in every single book for Israel) write about us:

&quot,LET'S GO&quot, guide gave us the &quot, particularly great&quot, mark for being:&quot,...a wonderful escape from the hostels that cover Tel Aviv beaches. It really manages to feel like Israel.&quot,

LONELY PLANET: &quot,a pleasant israeli couple has converted a beautiful old Turkish house into the lovely Old Jaffa Hostel.&quot,

THE ROUGH GUIDE:&quot, ...excellent, well run...&quot,

REISE-KNOWS-HOW:&quot, very clean, friendly and helpful, very good atmosphere...&quot,

The British &quot,Independent&quot, had an article on Tel Aviv on 31.Oct.1999 and recommended 4 options for accommodation: The Hilton, two three star Hotels and the Old Jaffa Hostel.

Facilities &amp, Rooms:

IMPORTANT

Class C
A spacious room (most rooms have a beautiful balcony) for a couple or family (communal WC and shower)

Class B
A small intimate cozy room with WC and shower

Class A
A studio flat with shower, WC, air-condition, cable TV and kitchen (min.stay:2 nights)

* The hostel is in an old, beautifully renovated building with high ceilings and colorful floor tiles, balconies hanging over the market and a roof garden overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

* Our hostel building is a privately owned clean and safe facility that meets all modern standards while preserving the unique character of an old guest house.

* Great location (see location)

* Beautiful private rooms for prices that you, the budget tourist to Israel, can afford (see prices).

* Lots of space to be left alone or socialize, a spacious lobby, a roof terrace and TV-room.

* Clean, well lit and ventilated showers and toilets.

* Laundry (hand or machine), kitchen, storage, internet-station.

Old Jaffa Hostel is a quiet, relaxed place (sorry, no loud MTV music, no pool table, no all night bar) for young people of all ages!

If you have a true travelers spirit Old Jaffa Hostel &amp, Guest House is your natural choice!

Location:
The location - excellent! (Unless you enjoy the noisy, sleazy downtown with police sirens and massage parlors).

We are located in the old, atmospheric part of town, in the middle of Jaffa's Oriental Bazaar - lively during the day, quiet at night and within walking distance to anything you need in the big city.

It is next to Tel-Aviv's most beautiful beaches and close to restored Old Jaffa and the old harbor.

Around the hostel there is a big choice of eating places who cater mainly to the locals and therefore are authentic and significantly cheaper than the ones in Tel-Aviv. Generally speaking - you are less likely to fall into a tourist trap in Jaffa and if you want to do some shopping - cloths, souvenirs etc. The 'Flea Market' is the cheapest place to do so.

Jaffa is also one of the few places in Israel where you can see Jews and Arabs living together in harmony.
