LEMPOT
My name is I Wayan Metro but my friends call me Lempot, which means, &quot, long&quot, or a &quot, sash.&quot,

I graduated from high school and continued on to hotel and tourism school. After that I worked in a small hotel to practice what I learned in school, and was freelancing as a boat driver - taking people out snorkelling, diving, fishing and surfing. I understand that life is a PROCESS: eat, drink, and see what life brings to me. I earned enough money to go to school and learn English for three months.

After I finished my course one of my friends wanted me to work on a cruise ship but I met Tania and from here my life began, this was the start of a new life - as people say, but I can also feel it in may heart, that life becomes strong and wants me to raise the flag of life up, up, up - like a star shining in the sky which every person dreams about.

TANIA
My name is Tania and I grew up in Indonesia. Although I have a Dutch citizenship, my father is Dutch and my mother German, we spoke English at home and I did not feel any one nationality. Growing up all over the place made me realize that this is all one world and that &quot, wherever you place your hat is your home.&quot,

After Jakarta we moved to Singapore and then I was off to the heart of Bavaria. After going back to Indonesia for a short while I lived in Oxford, Switzerland, and Holland, Portugal in a tent, France on the ski slopes, Hawaii on a farm.

But my path has taken me back to Indonesia where I lived in Yogja and now in the East of Bali. This is where I met my husband and had a beautiful Balinese wedding. But more importantly this is where we started our own family and we are a part an extended family. Our son Jodi was born just down the road.

Environmentally friendly
We have begun a regular beach clean up. Every Saturday at 4pm, we, and the local village kids, scour the beach to remove any unwanted rubbish. You are more than welcome to join our attempt to encourage local environmental awareness.

A Lumbung is a traditional wooden structure on stilts for storing rice and Damuh was our great-grandfather's name. It also is the Balinese word for morning dew.

We are situated in the East of Bali, between Padangbai and Candi Dasa in a place called Buitan and is also known as Balina. We are right on the coast of Amuk bay. At our little home stay right on the beach, we have 3 Lumbungs, 2 standard, good for 2 persons each, and one new extra exclusive, big enough for a small family. We, Lempot and Tania and our son Jodi live in the big Lumbung-like house at the back and tend to our guests' every need.

The Lumbungs are decked out with all the comforts: spring beds, hot and cold showers (the superior room has a bathtub), soap and towels, mini bars, fans, and we also provide a laundry service. All the Lumbungs are set in a lush tropical garden and have views to the Indian Ocean and the islands of Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan, or the garden ponds.

After a good night's sleep you can have your breakfast at your Lumbung or in our home at the table. And here you can have what your heart and stomach desires provided its available...let us just tantalize your taste buds, would you like fresh fruit and yogurt, pancakes, or your special Indonesian Nasi Goreng (fried rice), French toast... or would that be sausages and eggs?

Once you are done with all that goodness you have a big choice of things you can do, and then again it is also just nice to do nothing. Well depending on the waves you can go snorkelling and fishing, boating with the local fisher boats, or you might want to try boogie boarding or surfing. There are also numerous dive shops here and you can do a beginners PADI course right next door. If you like action you can go trekking and mountain biking otherwise you can stroll the short street of Buitan with the good and cheap warungs (restaurants,) little local tokos (shops) and souvenir shops. When you have tired yourself out and want to treat yourself to some goodness, then you can have a massage in the comfort of your Lumbung.

If you want to spend your whole day out on the road then we can give you hints of what to see and what not to waste precious time on. We can help you organise a car and a driver for a whole or half day. Tell us what your interests are and we can then see how we can best accommodate you. Do you like the Arts or shopping, the outback scenic routes, the temples?

Wichtige Hinweise

Call us. We will pick you up for free, if you are staying for a week or more. Take the shuttle service to Candi Dasa. We will come and pick you up.
