Our house is old- the old Kashi Vishwanath temple was destroyed in 1669 by Aurangzeb. The current structure is believed to have been built by Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar of Indore in 1780. Our house is believed to have been built in the 1700's.   The guest house is full of different colours. All the walls of house are colourful and nicely decorated. We have tried to make our rooms like your room at home, your 'pad'.   All our family are outgoing and friendly. That is just our nature. Our rooms are not like hospital rooms or like a box. They each posess character. We have a rooftop where you can sit at sunset time and take tea in privacy. You can watch the sun go down over the city.   Sometimes, on special occassions, we can organise Indian classical music concerts on the rooftop. As we are very near to the ghats and the famous Golden Temple you can see many small Indian temples around our house. It is the oldest corner of the Holy city of Varanasi, Kashi, the City of Light.   Music and Language Courses:   As teaching is our family tradition,so we provide music lessons of Sitar, Tabla, Flute, Harmonium, Flute etc and we also sell all kinds of Indian musical Instruments. We also offer Hindi language and Cookery courses in our house.If you have a day or two, please don't forget to have some cultural experience with us.

Monu Guest House is very near to the Golden Temple and the famous street (alley) called Vishwanath Gali.
It is also just 2 minutes walk from the main Ghats. We are little bit far from the Cantt railway station about 30 minutes, so you probably have to take a cycle or auto rickshaw for rs 50 or 60rs.

Ask him to bring you at Godowlia crossing and then from there ask anyone where is the Golden Temple or the famous Vishwanath Gali?

Now, check the map, the red line starts at Godowlia, goes along the main shopping street towards the ghats, past the famous tea stall, then left up the alleyways to the Golden Temple.

When you are near there, you can ask anyone where is the Monu Guest House. If you have any problem or difficulties in finding us, call us and we can come and pick you up from the spot. This map might help you also.

Directions: We are in alleyways beside the Golden Temple, way away from the loudness of motorcycle and car horns, streets and traffics. But we are in a very secure and an important area.

The nearest Railway and Bus station from our house in the Cantt Railway Station and Cantt Bus station, both are situated quite in the same area, the bus station is just when you get out from the railway station.

As you come out of the railway station, you just have to take a cycle rickshaw or auto rickshaw for the place called &quot,Godowlia Crossing&quot,. The cycle rickshaw will cost you around rupees 30 or 40 and the auto rickshaw will cost you around rupees 60 or 65,don't pay more than that if they ask, if they don't agrre with this price ,find other one.

Please don't tell them in which guest house you want to go, other wise they will try to bring you to some wrong place for their commission. You are meeting friends on Dasasawamedh ghat, you don't need anything else.

Once you are near to the famous place called Godowlia, which is like a centre of the city, it means that you are very near to our place. We are just 5 minutes walk north of the centre, beside the Golden Temple.

Now your target is the famous Golden Temple street called the Vishwanath Gali or the Tripura Bhairavi Gali &quot,Lane&quot, they both will bring you at our place. Our street is called &quot,Kalika Gali&quot,.
