Roomy, clean and hospitable, Argyle Backpackers is just off the Meadows, Edinburgh's central park and a hub during the festival.   We are only a 10-15 minute walk from the famous Royal Mile with its castle and the buzzing city center, yet in a calm and relaxed part of town with a nearby pub, restaurant and shops. If you're looking for a good sleep and a relaxing time then this is your place. It is also great for access to the University.   We have top facilities including 2 kitchens, a living room (with real fire!) and a conservatory looking onto a private garden. Also don't forget internet access with 15 minutes free on arrival, free tea/coffee and us, the friendly staff!!   We offer the following to our guests:   - 24h key access - Internet access (15 min free)+ wireless internet access with your own laptop - Two self-catering kitchens - Video/DVD/TV room - Conservatory and back garden - Bicycle hire - Free personal lockers (inside the room!) - Smoking only outside (sunny garden) - Long term stay offers (except July & August)   IMPORTANT information for NEW YEAR'S EVE!:   There is a minimum of 3 nights stay, only starting on 29th or 30th of December. If you book the check in for any other date for 3 nights, your reservation will be cancelled and your deposit will be lost. Bookings of more than 3 nights have to include 3 days of the following dates: 29th-30th-31st-1st. We charge IN ADVANCE the TOTAL amount of your stay on your credit card, between 1 and 3 days after receiving your on-line reservation. We DON'T accept cancellations for this period.

Wichtige Hinweise

Reception opens from 9am to 10pm. Groups of 4+ people must phone to book. We won't accept bookings made directly on-line. Passport /driving license is required to check in. Guests under 18 y.o. can stay only in a private room with family member who is over 21. Cancellations must be made at least 48h in advance (by 10:30am on your arrival day).   NEW YEAR'S EVE booking information on Overview, please read before booking!!

Wegbeschreibung

Argyle Backpackers is situated in Marchmont, conveniently close to bus routes, university and slightly south of the city centre.

- Bus: To get to Argyle Backpackers from Waverley Station on Princes Street, catch the number 41 bus from The Mound. Ask the bus driver to stop at Warrender Park Road (£1.20 bus fare - you need the correct change as none is given). The hostel is on Argyle Place which is just off Warrender Park Road, opposite the Argyle pub. It's about a 10 minute bus trip.

Walking: Alternatively, you can walk up the Mound and follow the street it leads on to (George IV Bridge) and then take the right fork. At the 'T' intersection, cross the road and take the path straight ahead (for pedestrians &amp, cyclists only) through the Meadows (a large park in the middle of Edinburgh) until you reach Melville Drive. Cross this road and follow the street Argyle Place which is straight ahead. Argyle Backpackers is at the top on the left, opposite the Argyle pub. It's about 20 minutes walk.
