Victorian elegance at a budget Price! ‘Palmers Lodge’ is one of the most beautiful hostels you will find!   Welcome to ‘Palmers Lodge’, London's latest accommodation with a difference where you can experience Victorian elegance in the former home of Samuel Palmer, of the Huntley and Palmers biscuit empire. Built in 1881, this substantial house has been restored to its original glory in order to offer our guests not just budget accommodation but also a unique experience during their stay in London.   ** Please note that for the 12 DOUBLE BED MIXED DORM you will only need to book for 1 guest but 2 can share the double bed **   We have a wide selection of dorms, from private rooms to a 28-bed dorm for the really price conscious traveller. Great care has been taken in furnishing our spacious rooms to the highest standard with top quality bunks and secure storage facilities.   Guests can enjoy FREE Internet and WI-FI access in the lobby, relax in the lounge or have a drink with friends in our bar. A FREE continental Breakfast, served in the dining room, is included in the price.   Our large and beautiful Lounge is a great place to meet new friends .Our Bar is a great place to hang out with cheap drinks every night of the week!! Both Lounge and Bar are equipped with large flat screen TVs.   If your going out then takes the tube from either Swiss Cottage or Finchley Road tube stations and in a few minutes you can be in the heart of the City. If you are having a really late night then you can catch the night bus back from Trafalgar Square!   There is also plenty to do on Finchley road with two cinemas, the Hampstead Theatre, pubs, Restaurants and the O2 Shopping Centre. Just ask our staff for ideas!   This beautiful building gives our guests the chance not just to see London's history but also to sleep in it! The restoration has added all modern facilities without spoiling the building's character and guests can be assured by our conscientious staff, security card system and commitment to the highest standards.   Our mission is to provide comfortable, secure, clean and spacious accommodation to the budget traveller. Don't just see London's history, live in it for a while!   ‘Palmers Lodge’ is located in Central London near Swiss Cottage and Finchley Road tube stations (4 stops from the heart of London) with bus connections to both Stansted and Luton Airports.   Towels are not included in 'Linen' but can be purchased or hired from reception.   Please note that we do not currently have self catering facilities. A Microwave and Kettle are available for guest use. Snacks are available in the Bar seven days a week and included are pizzas and Panini’s, while our Restaurant is open Mon-Fri offering great meal deals. Swiss Cottage Tube: Leave Swiss Cottage tube (Jubilee Line) using exit 2 to Eton Avenue. At the top of the stairs turn left and, facing the main road, walk round to the right up College Crescent. Palmers Lodge is located 100 yards up on the left at 40 College Crescent.

Finchley Road Tube: From Finchley Road tube (Jubilee &amp, Metropolitan lines) cross the road to the HSBC bank and walk to your right towards Swiss Cottage. About 150 yards up turn left (between the North Star Pub and the BP garage) and walk up College Crescent. Palmers Lodge will appear on your right at the junction.


By Road

College Crescent is off the Finchley Road (A41) in Swiss Cottage. If you are driving into London the best route to take would be to join the A41 from North London via the M25, M1, A1 or A406 North Circular. Once on the A41 follow it to Swiss Cottage and, just after you pass Finchley Road tube station (which would be on your right), turn left into College Crescent, Please refer to the map.

Parking is available at the hostel but please advise us when you make your booking that a space will be required.


From the Airports

Heathrow: There are many ways into London from the airport. The most expensive way is to get a taxi, next the Heathrow Express (but probably the quickest). Many people take the tube whilst the cheapest option is to get the bus. Choose the method that suits your budget and then join the London Underground network to get to either Swiss Cottage or Finchley Road tube stations.

Stansted: From Stansted you can catch the Stansted Express into Liverpool Street . However the cheaper and more convenient option is to catch the National Express (www.nationalexpress.co.uk) A6 service which will drop you off at Finchley Road tube station. From the station follow the directions as above.

Luton: From Luton you can catch the train into Kings Cross/St Pancras. However the cheaper and more convenient option is to catch the Greenline 757 service which will drop you off at Finchley Road tube station. From the station follow the directions as above.
