The Area Le Parc de la Vanoise : In France, the creation of a national reserve in the Vanoise mountains was being considered from 1943, under pressure from the Club Alpin Français, the Touring Club de France and hunting associations. There were numerous hesitations concerning the surface area to be protected as well as whether the focus should be placed on humans or animals. Finally, the project was planned with two zones, one central, the other peripheral. The ibex was at last permanently protected by the Vanoise National Park, created on 6 July 1963 - the first French national park. It has a common border with the Italian Gran Paradiso National Park. Twinned since 1972, together they cover 1250km2 and constitute the largest protected site in Western Europe. The national park is a site for discovering and enjoying the natural environment. 600 km of paths and more than forty refuges are available to visitors. Moûtiers : (30km): Moûtiers, the capital of Tarentaise, offers boundless sensations. Starting from Moûtiers, you can discover all the charm of Savoie and practise a lot of activities. Albertville / Conflans : (55km) Albertville is today the important crossroads on the axis of Northern Europe - the Mediterranean and through the Alps to central Europe. Further more, entering Conflans by the ""Porte de Savoie"" is like stepping back in time. On the Roman road from Milan to Vienna via the Petit Saint Bernard pass, Conflans witnessed the passage of merchants, peddlers and pilgrims. Access by road :
A43 motorway from Chambéry or Grenoble up to Albertville, Bourg St Maurice… Just before reaching Bourg St Maurice, follow signs for &quot,Peisey Vallandry&quot,. Carry on straight through, then follow signs for &quot,Plan Peisey&quot,, pass below the &quot,Vanoise Express&quot, gondola. The residence is located 100 m further away on the right (2nd residence on your right).

Access by rail :
Landry TGV railway station (7 km from Plan Peisey). Then free shuttle bus or taxi.

Access by plane:
Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport (200 km).
Geneva International Airport (150 km).
