The Area Le Parc de la Vanoise : In France, the creation of a national reserve in the Vanoise mountains was being considered from 1943, under pressure from the Club Alpin Français, the Touring Club de France and hunting associations. There were numerous hesitations concerning the surface area to be protected as well as whether the focus should be placed on humans or animals. Finally, the project was planned with two zones, one central, the other peripheral. The ibex was at last permanently protected by the Vanoise National Park, created on 6 July 1963 - the first French national park. It has a common border with the Italian Gran Paradiso National Park. Twinned since 1972, together they cover 1250km2 and constitute the largest protected site in Western Europe. The national park is a site for discovering and enjoying the natural environment. 600 km of paths and more than forty refuges are available to visitors.   La Plagne (30km) : La Plagne comprises 6 High Altitude Resorts which are linked by a free shuttle between 8.00 a.m. and midnight, enabling you to enjoy car free holidays. By Road :
A 6 motorway down to Lyon then A 43 and A 430 motorways from Lyon towards Albertville then 4 lane express way from Albertville towards Landry (Road N 90). The resort is located only 7 km away from the road N90 .

By train :
The closest train station is Landry (about 10 km before the final stop &quot,Bourg Saint Maurice&quot,). On saturdays, free shuttles are operating between the train station and the resorts of Montchavin and les Coches.
TheTickets can be bought at the train station and at the tourist office.
