Daku Resort in Savusavu

In Fiji we’re a one-of-a-kind “upscale budget” resort – with accommodation ranging from FJ$45 to $235 – in a coconut plantation by the sea. We’re small, low-key, and casual. You can have your own traditional style ocean view bure with its own deck, set in our tropical garden. Breakfast is served in a large open-style bure beside the swimming pool. The sea is at the end of the drive, and behind the resort a track takes you along a small freshwater creek and up through the lush tropical forest to a magnificent mountain top view of the bay.

Daku is just a short walk from town. Nicknamed the “Hidden Paradise&quot,, Savusavu on Vanua Levu is one of those places whose discovery will delight you- and make you thankful to have known about it before everyone else did.

Savusavu has its own culture and history that makes it different from other places in Fiji.

It is well known for its friendliness and local appeal. It has been founded in the early colonial days and developed through trade by sandalwood, beche-de-mer and copra.

Today Savusavu is Port of Entry for the yacht scene and a small safe haven during the cyclone season. Along with its beaches, reefs and corals, this place will encourage you to stroll, swim, snorkel, dive, bike, and kayak .Hiking through rainforests to splendid and refreshing waterfalls, village tours or local bus journeys.

Savusavu is peppered with hot springs. Some, occurring just off shore, give rise to hot spots in the Ocean. The most famous place is where the bubbling holes providing enough energy to cook food. Locals living around this area of town still utilize them on a regular basis as in bygone days.

Savusavu on Vanua Levu is most suitable for the adventurous traveler, because it does not only invite you to explore, but to lighten up and settle down as well. You’ll find that this small coastal Township will grow on you and let you sense that you are experiencing something quite different and isn’t that part of traveling too.

By Air - Pacific Sun &amp, Air Fiji service Savusavu several times a day - the Coral Route. The flight (50mins) path takes you over the most scenic Coral Gardens between Viti &amp, Vanua Levu. From the airport it is 10 minutes drive to Daku Resort.

By Sea - One of the finest scenic trip’s to be had taking in Viti Levu’s North and Vanua Levu South and Eastern coastlines &amp, spectacular reef systems along the way. Bligh Water Shipping service Savusavu twice weekly from Lautoka &amp, thrice weekly from Suva. Ships are clean &amp, comfortable Roll on Roll off vessels, with cabins &amp, first class sleepers, lounges and dining facilities. A great way to experience the Islands!

The trip is approximately 11hrs. Just 5 minutes drive from the wharf to Daku Resort.
