Maqai Beach in Qamea Island
Qamea is a land of tropical mountains, rainforest, white sand beaches and true Fijian villages. It has life and culture and traditional island atmosphere. Maqai is a beautiful Qamea beach enclosed by two rocky points, overlooking multiple reef breaks and set at the base of virgin jungle mountainside.
Maqai Beach presents a one-of-a-kind cultural and adventure experience in this new and remote location. We offer a rare style of tourism that is very much integrated with local custom and lifestyle. The Maqai crew is a young, funloving group of remarkable locals who wish to share their island homeland with their guests.

Food and Drink:
Breakfasts, lunches, and dinners are provided using a combination of vegetables harvested fresh from our on-sight organic garden as well as from the local farmer's markets. Freshly caught seafood is often on the menu. Daily baking of breads and muffins. Meal inspirations and recipes come from the local Fijian village home as well as popular favorites across the globe. On special occasions, the Maqai crew do a Lovo night or a big BBQ feast. Should you want privacy, meals can be served directly to your front porch. Please advise us if you are vegetarian.
Full meal plan F$30 a day.

Wegbeschreibung
Maqai guests will first travel to Taveuni (The Garden Island). Ferries and scenic flights leave from both Nadi and Suva bound for Taveuni.Getting to Taveuni:
Flights leave frequently and take about 1 hour from Nadi. Check pacificsun.com.fj or airfiji.com.fj for details. Ferries take about 15 hours from Suva. blighwatershipping.com.fj has the ferry info.
From Taveuni to Maqai:
Guests are picked up by the Maqai boat from Navakacowa Landing on the east side of Taveuni. Boat ride is free. Make your own way there or call us to arrange pick up from anywhere on Taveuni. Buses go 3 three times daily around Taveuni and cost about $2. Taxis cost $20 from Matei Airport. Call in advance to book the boat trip!
Pick ups are available with our Maqai driver. Call in advance to arrange your transfer to Maqai.
