The Laird & Dog is perfectly positioned to use as a base to explore all that Edinburgh and the East Coast has to offer. Stay at the Laird & Dog & take the bus into town. It's only a 20 minute journey.   All bedrooms are available on a bed & breakfast basis.   We also have a great bar & conservatory restaurant serving a wide ranging menu from 12 noon daily. Our menu has everything from traditional pub food, to fresh salads, steaks & traditional Scottish fayre.   The Laird Loft is also available for private dining, meetings & small celebrations   The Laird & Dog has a long history. The first pub was established on the premises in 1740 and was know as the Lasswade Inn. In the late 18th century, permission was granted for a well, which we believe was used for the purposes of brewing or distilling. This well was only re-discovered in 1999 during the construction of the new conservatory. The well has now been restored and now on entering the conservatory, you have to walk over this piece of Lasswade history.

The name of the nearest train station is Edinburgh station and we are approximately 6 miles away.
By taxi it will cost £15.
By bus you will need to get bus number 31from Edinburgh train station. Ask the bus driver to let you know where to get off. It will cost £1.20 each way. The buses run every 15 minutes and there is also a night bus.
