Welcome to Beijing Far East International Youth Hostel! Beijing Far East International Youth Hostel, accepted as one of the best hostels in Beijing, is situated in a preserved and protected Hutong area, typical local residency neighborhood, 10 minutes' walk away from the alleyways to Tian'anmen Square, Qianmen Business Center and Forbidden City. The well- known Liu Li Chang Cultural Street is only 5 minutes walk. The hostel was the former residence of a warlord in the beginning of the last century.   We are in a traditional Chinese courtyard attached to the main building as a comfortable hotel and the courtyard are built in the style of Qing Dynasty, quiet and comfortable. You can take a traditional rickshaw or a self-guided map tour to explore the area. Many of the historical attractions including Tian'anmen Square, Forbidden City, Liulichang (Antique Market) and Former embassy area...     ***Groups for over 10 people are acceptable all -year round.***     bicycle rentals so that visitors can enjoy the Hutong area at their own pace. In order to heighten public awareness of sustainable urban transport development, and guide visitors choose public transport, cycling, walking, and other green travel methods, the most environmental-friendly way is cycling which can directly experience and feelings as a new transport option, we provide a convenient bicycle rental service for free of charge. ********************************* High Speed Internet access system has installed in part of rooms on 4th floor, guests can using the computer in the room,or spend time for exploring the Internet in our net bar of courtyard.   We have buses of all sizes and cars available at reasonable prices. You can book both domestic and international plane and train tickets here on arrival. The tours to the Great Wall are covered in different sections including The Great wall at Badaling, Mutianyu, Simatai and hiking on the wall From Jinshanling to Simatai.   If you feel you are getting tired and need a massage afterwards, the masseuse in the beauty salon on the first floor will make you quickly recover and leave you feeling refreshed. You can see shows of Beijing Opera, Chinese Acrobatics and Chinese Martial Arts (Kungfu) There are two restaurants in the hotel serving both Chinese and Western style meals. 10 --15 Yuan per person breakfast (US, UK, Switzerland, Continental style) are well arranged in the courtyard restaurant.   The buffet breakfast is served on the 1st floor restaurant in the main building and is very popular to western visitors. There is also a coffee bar on B floor where you can log on to the Internet, listen to music and watch videos and TV programs while enjoying your coffee.   We can take you to all major tourist sites in Beijing and anywhere you wish to go, we offer airport pick-ups. And as the airport subway line has started operation, you can take subway there,then transfer subway Line 2 at the transfer station: 'DongZhiMen' and get off at HePingMen station,then keep walking along NanXinHua street to south area about 5 minutes till you find a sign at a corner with 'Far East Youth Hostel' and turn left.you will see our hotel after the turning.simply make a phone call if you meet any problem on the way to our hotel. or take shuttle bus No.7 at the airport (which from airport ---west train station) and get off at Zhu Shi Kou, then transfer a taxi to our hotel.Still need more help call Sally or Wendy.     Below are some comments from our guests:   *** I want to thank the Beijing Far East International Youth Hostel for perfect lodging during my 6-day stay in Beijing! The hostel, its staff and the day trips and activities it organized were great, and the location and atmosphere second to none! Once again thanks a lot   *** This is a great 'hostel', more of a hotel really. Rooms are cleaned every day and it has every service you could need - Internet, laundry and a tour office which can organize your trips to the Great Wall etc. The location is perfect - in the middle of the old part of Beijing. We spent the first few nights here in another part of town and this area is much safer and more fun, I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Beijing for the first time.   ***The entire staff at Far East is so incredibly helpful! Having a tourist office inside the hostel was definitely useful, and they're really good at explaining how to get around the city. It's within walking distance to both Tianamen Sq. and the Forbidden City, and the shops along the alleyways are so much cheaper than the silk market! We found that out a little too late. The restaurant on the first floor is really good, and the cafe at the bottom floor is also really convenient. Make sure you stay in the main hostel, not in the court yard!   *** Fantastic travel desk and massage facilities - staff very friendly. Great free Internet service and good breakfast buffet - constantly restocked. Great!   ***The great food and excellent Internet facilities provided by the hotel make life very comfortable and with only a 10 minute walk to the nearest underground station, or a 20 min walk through some very interesting streets leading to Tiananmen Square, the location is quite central. I've stayed in this Hotel 3 times now and will definitely stay there again.   ***Absolutely fantastic! Extremely nice people, very helpful, good tours and EXCELLENT massages! Loved it and would definitely stay there again. Just one thing: it would be nice with a few strictly female/male rooms. But apart from that it was all more than good!   *** Better location - it's impossible! Nothing better than being in this fantastic Hutong. In front of the hostel, there's a fantastic bar-cafe, where you can eat for a reasonable price. I would return!   *** It's very clean (we had an en-suite) and the food offered at both the restaurant and cafe were excellent in taste and value for money. Free Internet was great.
