We offer a theater with 300 DVDs to choose from, free internet access and Wi-Fi, book exchange, and breathtaking views of the old city from our balconies. We offer private rooms, family rooms, and dorms.   Our showers have hot and cold water with strong pressure. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen, and laundry service is available. Cobreu is networked with dance and capoeira academies, language and volunteer programs, and owners Hector and Amelia offer an in-exhaustible support system during your stay.   The hostel also donates certain proceeds to local charities and orphanages, providing a direct link for visitors to help the local community. The inside of the hostel is decorated with vibrant graffiti by Salvador’s most renowned graffiti artist. The restaurant and bar downstairs, Cafe Alquimia, is a hotspot among local artists, musicians, and travelers alike. Serving vegetarian and Arabic food, many late nights are sure to be spent drinking caipirinhas with the Alquimia crowd.   Playing everything from jazz to forro, samba to hip-hop, the cafe/bar is an easy favorite. Cobreu was created and is operated by two travelers who love life, Bahia, and offering a fantastic place to stay for old and new friends.

From the airport or bus station, take any bus to Praça da Se. Walk through the Pelourinho towards Santo Antonio. You will walk down the Ladeira do Pelourinho, then up the Ladeira do Carmo.

We are located halfway up the Ladeira, just before the stairs. After sundown, holidays and weekends, we highly recommend taking a taxi. Looking at the stairs, we are at the bottom left side.
