Located in the heart of 'The Wood' yet only a short stroll to the city is this small and wonderfully friendly backpackers. The charming character house with its mountain backdrop is a stones throw from the beautiful Matai River and its refreshing swimming holes.   Like you the owners have travelled the world, (as well as New Zealand) and have a wealth of knowledge which we happily share with our guests.   We are also able to advise on local trips and are booking agents for the various activities which you will enjoy in this beautiful location.   Free is our favourite word and we use it to the max: FREE Wireless Internet FREE local phone FREE pick-up/drop-off FREE bikes FREE Tea and Coffee FREE herbs and spices FREE Baggage storage FREE advice and bookings FREE use of BBQs - Either amongst the citrus trees or in the sun drenched garden   and of course FREE Home Baked cakes.   We also have an extensive music collection, juggle sticks, board games, sports equipment, fishing rods and a guitar.   Be careful though, your one night stay will soon turn into four :)
