The Thatchery in Johannesburg

The Thatchery is situated amoungst many gardens, lawns with a fish pond, dam and bush veld, creating a real feeling of being in the country   We have three venues:   “Under Milkwood” which accommodates 80 with a dance floor. (Minimum guests 50)   “Primrose” which accommodates around 40 with a dance floor. (Minimum guests 20)   We also have The “pub” which is a country style pub. It accommodates 100 for informal / casual type functions. The pub has 3 separate Lapa’s which can be booked out for private functions, from 20 minimum to 30 guests maximum. Set under huge glorious trees, and gardens, this is a must to see.   Smaller functions can be accommodated in a private dining area in our A la Carte restaurant.

Follow Hendrik Potgieter Road towards Krugersdorp. Pass Ruimsig Estate on your left, pass Featherbrook Sign – Furrow Road on your left.

You will reach intersection (R28), with a Sasol Garage diagonally across from you.

Cross over this robot R28. Carry on pass Pinehaven Estate on your left.

Pass Francis Road, pass The Post and Rail on your left, look for Van Zyl Road – Turn right into Van Zyl. Carry on we are the corner property 26 Van Zyl Road.

From Sandton:

Follow Rivonia Road to the N1. Follow the N1 Roodepoort..

Take the 14th Avenue offramp and proceed right into this road.

Go under the highway, at robot turn right into Hendrik Potgieter.

Carry on with this road for +/- 20km heading towards Krugersdorp. Pass Ruimsig Estate on your left, pass Featherbrook Sign – Furrow Road on your left. You will reach intersection (R28), with a Sasol Garage diagonally across from you.

Cross over this robot R28. Carry on pass Pinehaven Estate on your left. Pass Francis Road, pass The Post and Rail on your left, look for Van Zyl Road – Turn right into Van Zyl. Carry on we are the corner property 26 Van Zyl Road.

From Pretoria: – (+/- 60km from Pretoria)

Take the R28 highway to Krugersdorp. When you reach the R28 intersection, you will see a Sasol garage diagonally across from you.

At this robot turn right to Ventersdorp, Carry on pass Pinehaven Estate on your left.

Pass Francis Road, pass The Post and Rail on your left, look for Van Zyl Road – Turn right into Van Zyl.

Follow the M1 north and then take the N1 turnoff towards Bloemfontein/Roodepoort. Take the 14th Avenue offramp.

Turn left into 14th Avenue, carry on, go under the highway.

At Robot under the highway, turn right into Hendrik Potgieter. Carry on with this road for +/- 20km heading towards Krugersdorp.
